  ★ week 1

this week Mr Nick taught us a lesson on the three stages of production that are production, distribution, and exhibition. I've also started my blog this week and published 7 posts that are Brief, Team, weekly progress & plan, preliminary research and research industry, audience and genre.

  ★ week 2

Today I've started my big research. i found it hard to see texts because the app netflix is blocked from my school so I couldnt watch movies from there. I also researched about the genre conventions of the genre i chose and made a paragraph on that. for my big research i chose two movies i have watched called as above, so below and smile. as above, so below is my favorite found footage type horror film and that is what inspired me to choose found footage type horror film for my media project genre

 ★ week 3

This week we finished up the research and we had to make 2 big researches that took me a very long time to finish and do, and afterwards I started on my small researches and we had to make 6 and it seemed overwhelming at first but once i started it was very easy to finish but i had to watch 6 movies that were horror and that was very tiring for me because i really did not want to watch it alone and i found it hard to do this task because i'm scared of watching horror movies by myself; plus i was home alone most of the week so I had to call a friend while watching for this research.

 ★ week 4

This week we started on statement of intent, although i wasn't present during the class because i was sick, my group helped me catch up and my group member Kellie sent me the statement of intent for me to put it one my blog. and then we had our theory lessons where we learned about vertical and horizontal integration, cross media conversions, synergy and media consolidation. we did a lot of class discussions and Mr Nick did a good job at making us understand the whole concept.

 ★ week 5

this week we started on our storyboards and screenplays, mr Nick showed me the format of a screenplay to help me with getting started. we also created and finished our storyboards which took a lot of time and effort to finish. this week we also had a unit assessment about media consolidation and someone in the classroom tried to cheat so mr nick took our notes and that got me a bad score, so next time i will study harder. 

★ week 6

 This week Mr nick helped the whole class create a screen test, a lot of us weren't ready or experience so it turned out badly and a lot of people were shy. either way, none of our classmates results really fit into our found footage horror criteria so we will be looking for actors outside the classroom. hopefully we can find a good actor to act in our opening scene. this whole week was project lesson too so all we did was check off our blog to do lists

★ week 7

Narrative Theory: 

- Barthes: In a narrative story, there needs to a least have 5 codes in order to get a good story such as, Hermeneutic Codes, Proairetic Codes, Semantic Codes, Symbolic Codes, Cultural Codes.

- Levi Strauss: His theory was called Binary Opposites which means that in order to get a good ending, it needs a conflict of two opposites.

★ week 8 

This week Mr Nick gave us a lot of tasks, we had theory lessons about audience theory and representation theory and gender theory and learned about the 4 media theorists that are in related to the topics named Stuart hall, Judith butler, Laura Mulvey, and Liesebet Van zoo nen. over the weekend We finished filming all our scenes in the abandoned attic and with the help of our friend Arnold we took our behind-the-scenes photos as well. Now we are in the process of editing the clips and we will probably finish that by this week because its halfway done. we started working on our production + post-production blogposts that Mr Nick gave us instructions to do so. 

★ week 9

★ week 10

This week I was very stressed and then night before the submission date I was on a group call with my other media studies classmates and we did not sleep. I was trying to finish all my CCR's in time for the submission date and I had to complete my blogpost - like making the reflections for each blogpost and making sure all of them are correctly labeled. I was very stressed this one and lost a lot of sleep to complete my blogpost but now I am happy I completed everything and i really hope I did not forget anything.

Reflection: Having to do this was easy and fast. There were no problems with this because we just have to summaries what we did in that week but sometimes when the teacher tells us to write in our weekly progress I sometimes procrastinate it and now im paying the price because i have to try and remember what we did that week and try to cram it all up in here.

Reflection: ended up working with most of my previous team again for this project, which I think is a good thing. Since we’ve worked together before, we can remember where we went wrong and focus on improving. We also got a new member—a student who recently joined media studies—which worked out perfectly since we needed one more person. Overall, I’m really happy to have this team for our opening scene project.

Bedroom Scenes ✰ .ᐟ 

This picture shows me (Lamiya) the camera man/ director taking specific clips of Kristine (our main actor) in her bedroom. Maisie took the behind the scenes picture with my phone.

This picture shows Maisie, helping Kristine (our main actor) demonstrate how we want the scene of her walking in the bedroom to turn out. I (Lamiya) took the behind the scenes picture with maisies  phone.

This picture shows me (Lamiya) capturing the sunset at the Double Six beach from the place we chose to stay at. I used my camera to take a picture. Kristine (our main model) was the one who took the behind the scenes picture.

Location scout and risk asessment

 In this post I will select two of our intended locations and determine potential risks that may be involved when shooting there.

Location 1: Bedroom

Location 1
Location:	Lamiya's Bedroom.
Events in scene:	Theres a scene where subject 1 gets a phone call from subject 2 inviting them to go out.
Pros of location:	Its free and doesn't not have rules (unless there are parental rules).
Cons of location:	There could be disruption from other family members in the house, looks too much like a child's bedroom. It's too cramp to film in which can be difficult to manage fast.
Alternatives:	Any other member's bedroom.
Risk Assessment
Potential hazards:	The furnitures are weak which can possibly collapse and ruin the set.
Evaluate risks:	Once its collapse, it will take a lot of time to clean up and get it back to how it was originally.
Control measures:	We'll have people look out for furnitures that might collapse, and we'll try to avoid shooting near broken furnitures.
Responsibility:	Anyone who isn't doing camera work or light work.
Time frame:	We could control these before we shoot and maybe doing the shooting process.

Location 2: Fun Areas

Location 2
Location:	Shooters, Playroom, Slushy Society
Events in scene:	We will record people playing the mini golf at shooters and the photobooth, in playroom I will record maisie, kristine, felysia and chelsey playing fooseball, darts, pool, clawmachine and monopoly. Taking candid videos of them playing and having fun.,
Pros of location:	Its has unique features with their neon lights and fun entertainment and great places to record. Its crowded making it easier to film people having fun. And they were all at a close distance to one another so it was easy to go to the locations
Cons of location:	it was very hot so i felt that my actors were getting tired and hungry but we still havent finsihed shooting.
Alternatives:	If one cant then we skip that place.
Risk Assessment
Potential hazards:	We might distract people and potentially cause problems. there could be locations that do not allow recordings with special project.
Evaluate risks:	We will ask for consent and avoid making distractions for the people around us, and those who are doing a certain activity requiring us to take turns with those that are using them.
Control measures:	We will have people clearing space and asking consent and record in past space. So that means during recording we cannot take a long time.
Responsibility:	Anyone with good communication skills and confidence.
Time frame:	During filming and before filming.

Location 3: Night Market

Location 1
Location:	Love Anchor
Events in scene:	We will shoot of people walking around having fun, close shots of the markets, and colourful atmosphere.
Pros of location:	Its very vibrant so it will fit the theme, its a public area so we are freely able to record anything.
Cons of location:	Its crowded so we might be scared to shoot, People might feel uncomfortable if we record them.
Alternatives:	The Flea Market, Kuta Art Market.
Risk Assessment
Potential hazards:	The place is crowded and we might block peoples way which might potentially cause conflict.
Evaluate risks:	We will have to apologise and if it creates attention, we might have to leave to another place before going back to take shots.
Control measures:	We will let security, employees, and people know if anyone is curious, if they look annoyed and weirded out will ask for consent.
Responsibility:	If anyone isnt recording well have someone in charge of looking after the behind sets. We need someone with good confidence.
Time frame:	Before or after shooting our shots.
Other notes:	-

Location 4: Beaches

Location 2
Location:	Double Six Beach
Events in scene:	We will record sunset scenes, and basically candid shots.
Pros of location:	Its very big and has many unique features that we can also put in our scenes.
Cons of location:	We are shooting the scenes during night so it could be dangerous, and there could be a potential risk of losing things. It's crowded so we might have low confidences while taking shots.
Alternatives:	Seminyak Beach, Pantai Batu Belig Beach.
Risk Assessment
Potential hazards:	Loosing things in crowded places and the sand might be unstable making it hard to balance things or when recording. The water also can be distrustful
Evaluate risks:	If we lose things, we might have to find a nearby shop and get a spare. If it's a personal belonging, we'll be forced to find it after we finish recording.
Control measures:	We'll have people to look after personal or even valuable items it order for it to be safe.
Responsibility:	Any one of our members that isn't doing a task.
Time frame:	Before we start filming we make sure we have everything organised so that it wont be a scattered around
